DVD & VideoCD Creation
You can give us your video in one of several popular consumer formats - VHS, VHS-C, Hi-8, Video8, Mini-DV, or the legacy U-Matic Hi-band - and we will digitize it, encode it into MPEG-2 format, and author a menu system with artwork of your choice. We can deliver you a final DVD image ready for production or record it to DVD-R for you. The result is a standard format DVD playable on both TV and computer-based DVD players.
Why go analog to digital? You may want to transfer some ageing video to a digital format before the original becomes a claggy mess of iron oxide, wearing itself out and degrading the image every time it is played. Or your users may be frustrated with having to fast-forward to find sections and instead would like the convenience of an interactive menu that allows jumping to any part of the video instantly.
We can also create a VideoCD, a format that offers VHS quality playback but is stored on a conventional CD. VideoCDs are playable by many later generation DVD players and virtually every personal computer with a CD-ROM drive. VideoCDs are quick to make, very cheap to duplicate and can provide the perfect low cost means of transferring an analog video library to digital format. VideoCDs lack a menu system, but they do provide "chapter access" which allows quick skipping to selected parts of the disc.
