Tutorial - Converting Equirectangular
Converting an Equirectangular Image to a QuickTime VR movie
This tutorial shows how to convert a panorama in the form of an equirectangular image to a cubic format QuickTime VR movie. (If you would like to follow along with this tutorial, you can use the "sample equirectangular.jpg" image included in the download.)
Step 1
Open CubicConverter, or if it already running, click the "Conversion" tab to go to the conversion area.
Step 2
Drag the image into the empty conversion area.

The image will be loaded into the project and displayed in the conversion area. Information about the image - its type and dimensions - will be displayed in the info panel on the right.

Step 3
To begin the conversion, simply click the "Convert" button under the image. (For converting into a QuickTime VR movie you don't have to choose the conversion type as QuickTime VR is the default.)

The image will be progressively converted into six cube faces. When completed, the new faces will be assembled into a QuickTime VR movie and you will be taken to the "Movie" area. You can now pan around the new QuickTime VR movie in the normal way by clicking and dragging.

With the new movie you can now proceed to adjust movie settings or save the movie to disk.
